-Characters-
Ash, our hero (played by Bruce Campbell), has come back for more in this sequel to The Evil Dead, fighting spirits ,demons, and his own sanity. This one has more humour, and more of that B vibe. So, Ash and his girl Linda decide to go out on a trip to a run-down cabin in the woods in the middle of nowhere. Ash finds Prof. Knowby's tape recording of the studies of the Necronomicon, and plays it which summons the spirits from the dead. Now they are in deep trouble. Linda gets possessed, then killed. Now characters Annie and Ed meet Jake and Bobbie Jo and travel to the cabin to find Ash who seems to be stark raving mad at this point, and completely covered in blood. They all keep battling the spirits, and are trying to survive. They can't exactly escape (due to the bridge being totally out of whack), so they are stuck trying to find another way out. Will our hero and the others find a way out? Will they survive? Will Annie ever stop that goddamn screaming of hers? You'll have to watch to find out.
-Film Lines-
- Ash: "Groovy"

-Prof. Knowby: "It is through the recitation of the books passages, that this dark spirit is given license, to posses the living..."

-Ash's Reflection: " We just cut up our girlfriend with a chainsaw, does that sound FINE?"

-Ash: "Give me back my hand!"

-Henrietta: "I'll swallow your soul!"

-Smoke definitely comes from holes in trees
-It gets real dark real fast sometimes, like 5-seconds kind of fast.
-There is an infinite amount of doors and random openings in small beat-up cabins
-People start to decompose in the ground in a matter of minutes
-A giant time vortex can suck up a heavy Olds
mobile but won't destroy a rickety old shack

-Some possessed people sound like a screaming dying monkey
-Chainsaws never run out of gas
-Playing old reel-to-reels may cause death
Evil Dead II has got to be one of my favourite movies. Horror and comedy all in one, and in a creative fashion. It's a simple concept; a guy needs to get out alive. But somehow, they turn it into such a fulfilling film. It's one of those movies, to me atleast, that can be seen over and over, and not have to wait half a year until you want to see it again. Overall, one of the diamonds of b-movies, a must see.

And hey, now we know where 'Thing' from The Addams Family came from, right? I haven't seen it flip anyone off yet on the show, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it is Ash's long lost hand making it's debut on public television.
